Introducing The Glam Squad

I have BIG news to announce, (no I am not pregnant again) Amie Decker Makeup has now become Amie Decker Makeup and HAIR. This has been a long time coming. I have been in search of a hair stylist to team up with for a while now and I am glad to say that Kelley was worth the wait. Kelley and I met at a wedding we did together back in April and we hit it off immediately. I feel very fortunate because not only is she a genius with hair (the best I have seen on the wedding circuit) but she has the same passion for people that I have. She has done it all, movies, fashion shoots, weddings and working in a salon and her talent is extraordinary. We have a lot of fun together and I can't wait to start working at the weddings TOGETHER.

Another new addition is my beautiful apprentice Carrie. Carrie has been working with me for a few months now and she shares my same makeup style and philosophy. My former apprentice, the fabulous Megan Rakers, has started Baltimore Bridal Makeup and I never thought I would be able to find someone as fantastic as Megan but I have truly been blessed with Carrie.

After assembling my new team, I just had to do a website makeover. If you have not had a chance to check it out yet, please do www.amiedeckermakeup.com. So I enlisted the amazing Jen Lowe to create the beautiful photos for the website. We had the best time getting all dolled up and then getting dirty in the name of creativity. I did Kelley's makeup and she did my hair and we headed to downtown Sykesville (my neck of the woods) for a good old fashion photoshoot. Jen was fantastic and I cannot thank her enough for the wonderful pictures she took. Here are some of my favorites.

This is my attempt at a sexy pose

This picture below is my husbands favorite

Amie and Kelley, your makeup and hair Dream Team

BTW, not only is she talented but she is georgeous too. The nurve of some people.

Kelley borrowed my shoes for this shot. We happen to be the same size too. How perfect.

I love this shot. I thought it might be cute to get some pictures of us in veils for the Wedding page on the website.

Can you tell we had a good time? Walking on traintracks in high heels is not as easy as it looks.

I love this shot of Carrie on the caboose.

If you want to see some more pictures you can check out Jen Lowe's blog.
Thanks for viewing and I would love to hear your comments!

I Had the Time of my Life

Any of you who grew up in the "Dirty Dancing" era that I did, must be singing that tune after reading this blog title. Well my husband and I certainly had the time of our lives during our trip to Delaware for Teddy and Kristin's wedding. Not only did I get the opportunity to do all of the makeup for Kristin and her wedding party (which was a blast) but I actually got to attend the wedding. I am at a wedding (or at least the pre-wedding festivities) almost every weekend but it has been years since I have actually been a guest at one. Boy did we have the time of our lives. My husband and I had a kid free weekend and got to go to a Funtastic wedding with our friends (yes, I meant to say Funtastic). Kristina Gwynn photographed the wedding and got all of the images together in record time. She was kind enough to share them with me. Aren't they just fabulous? Congratulations Teddy and Kristin! Thanks for everything.

The adorable couple

There we are having a blast!

Hello Gorgeous

I am so excited to have these photos from Kate and Brad's Wedding last week. Isn't Kate the most Stunningly Gorgeous Bride? I did Kate's makeup for her engagement shoot which was a very clean and natural look and for the wedding we vamped it up a bit. I think she looks like she came straight out of a magazine. Her hair was done by the Fabulous Kelley Small who I hope to be working with a lot in the near future (I'll keep you posted) and her photography was by the sensational Jen Cody with Ego Media Photography. The pictures are extraordinary and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

The wedding reception was under a tent at Swan Harbor Farm in Havre De Grace.

Congratulations Kate and Brad!

Pretty in Pink

As soon as I met Emily, I could tell she was a girl after my own heart. She loves lashes, peonies, bling and pink, so we automatically clicked. I was fortunate to work with Emily and her bridal party, we had a blast. I just could not stop staring at her bouquet because it was so gorgeous and those bridesmaid dresses were HOT. Her wedding was on April 18th which happened to be what will most likely be the most gorgeous day Maryland sees all year. Brian Ray Photography in Annapolis photographed the wedding and Jamie from Baltimore Bridal hair did the fabulous hairstyling on all the ladies. And makeup was done by moi, of coarse. If you would like to see a slide show from the wedding check out Brian's blog.

A Tribute to Bridesmaids

My sister-in-law is getting married in December and has asked me to be a bridesmaid. Since I am getting very excited about it, I decided to do a post saluting bridesmaids. It is such a great idea for all of the bridesmaids to get their makeup done, as well as the bride, on the wedding day. It makes for a very beautiful and cohesive bridal party and everyone looks so fantastic in pictures. I think it is so important that I have a very "low" price for bridesmaids (much lower than other makeup artists) as an incentive. I know how expensive it can be to be in a wedding so I think it is important not to charge an arm and a leg for a bridesmaid to get their makeup done. Here are some of the beautiful bridesmaids I have had the pleasure of working with.

( One of these ladies above did not get makeup from me)

Hello Spring

Since I am saying "Hello Spring", I have a "Good Bye Winter" post to share. I am kicking off a crazy wedding season this weekend so before I start sharing all the lovely spring weddings, I wanted to show one of the last weddings I did in December 2008. Elizabeth got married in Annapolis and had some beautiful outdoor shots, even in December. Jen from Ego Media was the photographer and Bella Bridal planned the event.

The ceremony was at the Naval Academy's chapel and the whole day was very charming, trolley ride and all.
