Feature Wedding: Christina's Big Day

Christina was married on a gorgeous July afternoon at the Historic Inns of Annapolis and Amie Decker Makeup was delighted to make the occasion. Kelley and I joined the ladies for hair and makeup as Jen Lowe documented the process. Jen also photographed the bride and grooms engagement session which was one of my earlier posts this summer. Christina was surrounded by her loving family and we all had a fabulous laid-back time getting beautiful. Jen sent me some great pictures of hair and makeup. She is the best. Congratulations Kris and Jimmy!

I really enjoyed doing the grooms beautiful mother's makeup.
Kelley, working her magic.

Kelley asked the florist for an extra Dahlia so she could put it in Christina's hair. I love how the fresh flower looks.

Christina had her aunt as one of her bridesmaids

The groom's sister was another bridesmaid.

What a wonderful couple and family. Thank you for letting us be apart of your special day.

Feature Wedding: Lovely Laura

This wonderful couple, Laura and Reed, were married back in May at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis. I had mentioned in Laura's preview that I had done the makeup for two of her friends and her sister, so it was such a joy to see all of them and Laura again for another beautiful occasion.
Carrie and I met up with the girls after their hair appointments in the cutest little Annapolis house that Laura rented for the weekend. It was such a special group of girls and Carrie and I had a fabulous time doing every one's makeup.
Laura's photographer was Stacy of Stacy Richardson Photography who is amazing, as you can see. She got some great closeups for me and the outdoor shots at the venue were just "out of this world". If you would like to see more of Laura and Reed's wedding you can click here. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Laura's sister and Reed's sister were the official bridesmaids (in Green) but all of Laura's best friends were included in the getting ready process. Believe it or not, none of the girls knew what the others were planning on wearing and everyone ended up choosing a solid color dress in a different bright color. How perfect is that? I love it!

Congratulations, I am so happy for you two!

Big Hair, Big Makeup, Big Smiles

" Big Hair, Big Makeup" was the theme of the day for Victoria's wedding. I had the privilege of working with the most fun group of girls who all LOVE makeup. They all got their hair done and came back to the bride's house to meet up with me to get their makeup done. Everyone was so excited because Victoria told the ladies the day before that she was giving them a bridesmaid gift of..........a makeup artist. So the girls wanted to go all out (lashes and all).
One of Victoria's friends (Kelly Starke) used to do some wedding photography so she documented the getting ready process. I will post the professional shots later when I receive them but these makeup shots that Kelly took are fantastic. Thank you ladies for making me feel at home. I hope I get to work with you again for weddings to come. You are all gorgeous!

"Having you there to do our Makeup on August 1st was so wonderful and really made our day even more special. Your professional work and awesome personality made myself, my mom, my grandmother, and all of my bridesmaids look and feel like even more like the queens (or divas hehehe) then we already are! We had so much fun, looked spectacular, and even learned some new things about our makeup that day. You made an outstanding impression on all of our guests, because each of us got questions all evening about where we got our make-up done. Thank you again for being so depenable and making me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt in my entire life. You are excellent at what you do and I hope that you know that! Many thanks to you again and best wishes to you as your business continues to grow!"

With Love,
